John Deere DVD’s Assortment - Revisit the John Deere dealers days of the past with the second set of classic DVD assortment..

DVD # 5 is a Trio of All Time Classics from 1936, 1939 and 1941. Murphy Delivers The Goods a 31 minute black and white film from 1936 Where a John Deere dealer delivers a new Model "A" Tractor to a farmer. It includes an explanation of service and operation. The Tuttle Tugger from 1939 is in black and white and last approximately 34 minutes. It is a 70 year-old comedy starring Arthur Lake of Dagwood Bumstead fame. See what he does with a Model "B"! A total mishap from start to finish. Finally, The Rejuvenation of Jim Knox 1941, 29 minutes long. Originally intended only for dealer viewing, today is regarded to be the most valuable half-hour lesson available to tractor collectors and restorers.

DVD #6 is John Deere Day Show from 1957 in color approximately 118 minutes. The first year of the "20" Series Tractors. Includes: "Oddities in Farming"; a feature about Self-Propelled Combines; the Gordon Family film, "Please Pass the Pasture"; "Making Tractor History"; and "What’s new for 1957." A supplementary film about "20" Series Crawlers, "Tractors for Woodland Operations," completes the 1957 presentation.

DVD #7 is taken from the John Deere Day Show in 1958 and runs 96 minutes in color. The second year of the "20" Series Tractors. Includes: Maple syrup production in Vermont with the "420" C; six-row planting and cultivating with the "720"; irrigation using an "820" and other John Deere equipment; the Gordon Family film, "I Don’t Believe it"; "720" Cutaway in operation; and "What’s New for 1958."

DVD #8 features 171 color minutes of John Deere Day 1959. The first year of the "30" Series Tractors includes: "Oddities In Farming"; a tour of the John Deere Harvester Works in the feature, "Building the Big Ones"; What’s New for 1959"; and the Gordon Family film, "Too Young to Retire," which features the introduction of the "30" series. A supplementary film, "What’s New in Industrial Equipment," finishes the 1959 program and show the full line, including the "830" I and the "840" with scrapers.

 Three Central Indiana John Deere Dealerships, Jackson-Lee-Pearson, Harper Implement & Green Power have Merged

As of January 17, 2011, three central Indiana John Deere Dealerships have combined to create Tri Green Tractor, LLC.  Prior to this date, the three Dealerships - Green Power, Inc. of Logansport, Harper Implement, Inc. of Swayze and Jackson-Lee-Pearson, Inc. of Flora and Frankfort - have been independently owned and operated.  These organizations share a sense of history and where they came from as family operated businesses but are also mindful of the future and what it takes to succeed in today’s business world.  It is with this in mind that they have chosen to come together as one entity, Tri Green Tractor, LLC.  With a combined workforce of nearly 100 employees, they will be positioned better in the market place to provide their customers with a more specialized team of professionals and a higher level of support and service.  By combining their strengths, they are creating an industry leading Agricultural and Lawn and Garden equipment dealership.

 

About Jackson-Lee-Pearson, Inc.:

Flora and Frankfort, IN --Jackson-Lee-Pearson, Inc. was formed in 1972 when Matthew E. (Pete) Jackson and W. H. (Bill) Lee offered William J. (Bill) Pearson a partnership in what was Jackson Lee, Inc. in Flora.  The Flora location has grown and evolved with agricultural developments over the years.  Pearson became sole owner in 1989 at Jackson's retirement.  In 1991, Jackson-Lee-Pearson, Inc. purchased Farmers Service and Equipment in Frankfort from Bob Perry and Tom Daniels.  Pearson's son, Jason, joined the organization after graduating from Ball State University in 1993.  From 1993 to 2007, Bill and Jason co-managed the Flora and Frankfort locations until Bill sold his interest to Jason in July of 2007.  In 1995, Jason married Michelle Bolinger.  They have twin boys, Tanner and Cole.  Michelle works for the dealership as the website and marketing manager.  She has developed and greatly expanded their internet sales.

Swayzee, IN -– Rex Riggs has been the owner of Harper Implement for the past 15 years, but his involvement began long before.  In 1975, Rex married Kathy Harper whose father, Bill, was the founder of Harper Implement Co., Inc.  Bill Harper started the dealership back in 1953 as an Agricultural Equipment Dealer.  Rex began his employment with Harper in 1979 working in the Parts Department.  He has held various positions at the dealership over the years.  Rex manages the store along with selling equipment.  Kathy and Rex have two children, Kristen and Ryan.  Both are Purdue Graduates as are their parents.  Ryan works in the dealership as the AMS Specialist and in Ag Sales.

 

About Green Power, Inc.:

Logansport, IN -- R.M. ‘Jack’ Chambers has been the owner of Green Power, Inc. since 1991.  The business was originally purchased with three partners from Grant Implement Co., which had been in business since 1959.  Jack became the sole owner in 1995.  A little over one year ago a major renovation/addition was completed.  This added over 6,000 sq. ft. of showroom space to the main building.  Jack was married to Doris Rush in 1968.  They have three children: Claudia, Cara and Calvin and four grandchildren.  Cara has worked for the dealership for the past 13 years managing the Lawn and Garden Department.  Jack is a CPA and managing partner of Chambers & Co., CPA’s LLC which he opened in 1966.

Classic 16mm John Deere Collectibles Footage now available in DVD Format

Classic John Deere Dealer Days DVD Assortment.  Item # TBEK46007 This is a selection of 4 different DVD's that have been created from 16mm footage and now DVD format to enjoyed for generations to come. 

The first DVD features: The Inland Empire at Harvest Time from 1961 it is approximately 20 color minutes of footage from a wheat harvest in the Pacific Northwest with Hillside Combines. You will also see Des Moines and John Deere from the Late 1950s which features 20 minutes of color tour of the Des Moines Works and field footage of Two-Cylinder "20" Series Tractors.  See John Deere Combines in action from the March of Harvest Time 12 minutes of color footage from 1953. Don't miss Unusual farming operations with John Deere Tractors 11 minutes of color  video in Oddities in Farming from late 1953. You will also see Industrial Equipment featured in Industrial Tractors and Jobbed Equipment from late 1958 which included 19 color minutes of John Deere - Holt Forklift, logging etc.

The Second DVD features:  For Better Tractor Performance a 32 minute black and white that discusses New Generation Tractor care and operation. It starts with two-cylinder footage; moves into New Generation 2010, 3010, and 4010. Compares New Generation with "730". Excellent and a must for the person with or moving into the New Generation Tractors.  You will also see 19 minutes of Black and White film from late 1961 entitled Hitching and Adjusting Tractor-Drawn Moldboard Plows. Although dated 1961, this film features the "20" Series "520" and "720". Possibly the best modern plow-use film available. Easy-to-understand setup. check out 13 minutes of color footage from the new 370 Sprayer in 1963. The 1010 Crawler is shown in a variety of job site applications; construction, road building, and commercial work in the 1961 Crawler Units for Bigger Profits 31 minutes of color footage. And Finally 16 minutes of color video from 1958 John Deere Industrial Tractors and Allied Equipment. See a yellow "320" U lineup of 28 tractors; operational scenes throughout; still photos you've seen in the magazine come alive with action. There's even a "720" and "820" blowing snow.

The third DVD is all about the New Generation Tractors!  you get 87 minutes mostly in color of John Deere Day Show 1961 - The 25th Anniversary. This is it; the film that introduced the New Generation Tractors! The Gordon Family and Severson Implement co. lead in to start the show, which takes you right along with the John Deere dealers that attended Deere Day in Dallas, August 30, 1960. Narration of one portion by Walter Cronkite. Aerial views and descriptions of 16 major John Deere factories. There's a wonderful inside look at engineering and testing, plus plenty of field scenes with the new tractors and equipment. This DVD is an absolute must for any John Deere devotee; even the die-hard Two-cylinder collector. It also features Farming Frontiers 1971 of approximately 20 minutes of color. It's strictly a bonus film that we had available, it features the New Generation Combines that came a decade after the tractors. Interviews with farmers from around the country, and a lot of good field scenes. Ends with a short film about John Deere Chain Saws.

John Deere Day Movies number four  is an all color video and features John Deere Day from 1963. With tow years under John Deere's belt with the New Generation, this 75-minutes film provides a look inside with a 4010 cutaway tractor at a dealership. The explanation of the variable-speed engine shows how the New Generation carried through with the legendary lugging power of the Two-Cylinder Tractors. There are field scenes with new implements and introductions of new products, including the 1010 Special Row-Crop Utility Tractor - one of the most collectible (and reasonably obtainable) tractors in the New Generation lineup, it was the only regular U.S. - built and sold New Generation Tractor with a steel bucket seat. To finish up, 1960s T.V. anchor Howard K. Smith narrates visits to father-and-son-dealerships.  The DVD also features Industrial Equipment 1960 where only two-cylinder tractors are featured, including the "830" I and the "840" Diesel with Hancock Scraper. Packed with footage of industrial tractors and a wide range of equipment in operation. A very significant film about the products of a fast-growing segment of the John Deere collecting hobby.
